The south central Pennsylvania area reaches from the state capitol in Harrisburg to the urban, suburban and rural areas of Dauphin, Cumberland, York and Perry counties - all within a thirty-minute drive from the Capitol. Amid the Blue Mountains to the north, the picturesque Susquehanna River flows through the City of Harrisburg and makes its way south to the Chesapeake Bay. The Susquehanna has shaped the region's economic and cultural life throughout the centuries.

Health care is outstanding. The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is only one of the many specialized care facilities including nursing homes and rehabilitation centers. The City of Harrisburg has enjoyed a cultural and economic renaissance in recent years, especially in its downtown. City Island, the Whitaker Center for Science and Arts and the National Civil War Museum offer family-oriented activities.
